DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato lists the KTM 890 Duke L for a single model year, 2021, so the bike under most readers of this page has probably had an owner or two already. Used motorcycles tell their stories in small places, and the footpegs are among the most honest: scraped ends from keen cornering, a flattened edge from a tip-over in a car park, a surface polished smooth by countless stops. Fresh pegs are a simple remedy, and the FT102 is Accossato's touring design for this bike, CNC-machined aluminium with a notch that grips the boot.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the KTM 890 Duke L, model year 2021
- Body machined on CNC equipment from aluminium
- Anodised black, with a red insert
- Special notch for boot grip
- Front (rider) or rear (passenger) version, sold separately
- A way to replace worn or scraped original pegs
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FT102 from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodises it in black and sets a red insert into it. The special notch is there so that the boot grips better, and that is the only performance claim the maker attaches to the part. Everything else is appearance and material: a dark finish with one red detail.
Reading the Pegs of a Used Bike
If you are looking at a second-hand 890 Duke L, crouch down and study the pegs before you study the paperwork. Deep grinding marks on the underside or the tip point to a rider who used plenty of lean angle, which is not necessarily bad news but is worth a question about track days. A peg bent upwards or with a flattened end often means the bike has been on its side. In that case, also look at the gear lever, the brake pedal, the bar ends and the mirror on the same side, and ask how it happened.
Replacing the pegs is the easy part. Before new ones go on, the workshop should confirm that the mountings are straight and undamaged, because a fresh peg on a bent bracket will simply sit at the wrong angle. Once they are fitted, the FT102 gives your boots a clean, defined surface again, and the red insert adds a small detail that suggests the bike has been looked after. Keep the old pegs with the bike's paperwork; they show a later buyer exactly what you replaced and why.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the Duke 890 L for 2021 only, and that is the year we list. Choose the front version for the rider's pegs or the rear one for the passenger's; they are sold separately. As with any part that carries your weight, have the pegs fitted by a workshop and the fasteners tightened to KTM's values.
Road Approval
The FT102 has no ABE or parts certificate on file for Germany. We sell it for use on the circuit, not on public roads.
