The line between a CB250R and a CB300R is drawn largely by paperwork. In several markets a 250 sits on the correct side of a licence, tax or inspection threshold that a slightly larger engine falls foul of, and that is reason enough to build both. The intake side takes no notice of any of it. All four Neo Sports Cafe singles, from the 125 to the 300, breathe through the same airbox and take the same air filter, because an airbox is designed around a shape and a volume rather than around a regulation. Sprint Filter catalogues the P08 the same way, by airbox rather than by badge, which is why SM219S is the answer for a machine whose name changes at national borders.
Key Features
- Fits the standard airbox as a direct replacement — nothing modified, nothing remapped, homologation left alone
- 80 microns of filtration in the P08 medium, with an airflow figure of 5,050 l/m²/sec
- The weave is calibrated, its polyester threads from ø 22 microns upwards
- Dry and unoiled, so nothing can migrate downstream onto sensors or throttle bodies
- Roughly twice the filtering surface offered by other performance elements
- Reusable after a wash, and covered for two years from the date of purchase
Order by airbox, not by badge
Owners of the 150 and the 250 run into a listings problem that owners of a European best seller never do: search a parts catalogue by model name and half of it behaves as though the bike does not exist. The part number is the reliable index. One element, four machines, model years 2018 to 2026, and a fitment list that does not care which market the frame number came from. That commonality is also why the part stays available. Components tied to a single variant in a single country are the ones that quietly go out of stock first.
What the element is actually doing in there
The P08 is a single layer of dry polyester woven from threads of ø 22 microns and upwards, filtering at 80 microns with an airflow figure of 5,050 l/m²/sec. In Sprint Filter's comparative measurements it retains 93.13 per cent of 100-micron particles, against 76.42 per cent for a four-layer oiled cotton element. Worth being straight about what that buys you: fitting it will not make a standard road machine measurably faster. It gives a lower intake restriction that stays steady across the service interval instead of creeping upward, and a part that is cleaned rather than replaced.
Care and cleaning
Start with compressed air, held to the clean side and blown outwards. If the season has been hard on it, follow with lukewarm water and a mild detergent, rinsing until the water runs clear. Drying happens in open air and takes as long as it takes; heat and flame are both out of the question. The SM219S is refitted dry, with no oiling stage anywhere in the procedure. The Sprint Filter maintenance sheet sits in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the Honda CB250R from 2018 to 2026. The same SM219S element also fits the CB125R, CB150R and CB300R over the same years, four machines in total. The complete list is in the Fitment tab.
