That is the argument against an oiled cotton filter, which works by making dust stick to a tacky film that migrates downstream when the airbox runs hot. A dry element removes the mechanism entirely rather than reducing the odds.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eBlow it through from the clean side with compressed air, working outwards.
