DescriptionThe whole story▼

Autumn is a treacherous season for the last few metres of any ride. Wet leaves on a driveway or at the entrance to a garage can be almost as slippery as ice, and a K 1300 S turning in slowly at the end of a trip can slide out with hardly any warning. The damage is usually slight but visible: a scraped mirror, a scuffed bar end and a clutch lever bent or broken. If the lever on your K 1300 S is silver, the matching spare is Accossato's AGS13, listed from 2009 to 2015 and made in the original form.

Key Features

  • Original-type replacement clutch lever for the BMW K 1300 S
  • Colour: silver
  • Accossato lists it for 2009 to 2015, Motorsport versions included
  • Left side, hydraulic clutch
  • Value for money, as Accossato designed it
  • Accossato says its production process improves resistance after damage or a fall
  • One lever
  • No German ABE or test mark documented; racing and competition

Construction and Material Quality

The AGS13 exists for owners who want the left side of their K 1300 S to look as it did before the slide. It is silver and follows the original form, so the repair does not show. Accossato designed its replacement levers to offer good value for money and says that the way they are manufactured makes them more resistant after damage or an accident. The company gives no other technical details, and we do not add any of our own.

Autumn Leaves on the Driveway

The simplest precaution is to sweep your own driveway and garage entrance regularly in autumn, especially after rain. Elsewhere, treat wet leaves like a patch of oil: slow down before you reach them, stay as upright as you can, keep the throttle steady and avoid the front brake while the bike is leaned over. Manhole covers, painted lines and cobbles add to the risk when they are wet. If the K 1300 S does slide out, switch off the engine, check for leaking fluid and look at the left side before you lift it. A bent lever should be replaced. When you fit the AGS13, clean the pivot, put a little grease on it and check that the lever presses the master cylinder piston without sticking and returns all the way. Check the free play and the clutch switch before the next ride.

Fitment and Compatibility

The AGS13 is Accossato's listing for the K 1300 S across 2009 to 2015, taking in the standard and ABS bikes and the K 1300 S Motorsport of 2014 and 2015. No other silver replacement clutch lever is named for the bike; in black, there are the AGS12 over the same years and the AGS194 over 2007 to 2015. We also list the AGS13 for the K 1300 R. The brake side is served by the black AGD305, and Accossato's CNC levers, EDB001 and ESB002, are there for anyone who wants a tuning part.

Road Approval

The AGS13 has no German ABE and no test mark on record with us, because we do not have approval documents for it. We therefore sell it for racing and competition use.
