DescriptionThe whole story▼

An off-road compound is not what most people expect to see listed for the KTM RC 250, and we want to explain it plainly. Accossato offers AGPP91 in the Off-road sintered mixture for the RC 250 of model years 2014 and 2015 because the same plate also fits dirt bikes. The mixture is designed for off-road riders. On the RC 250 it is only worth considering if your regular route includes dusty tracks, gravel roads or muddy lanes.

Key Features

  • Rear pads AGPP91 for the KTM RC 250, 2014 and 2015
  • STMX mixture, SKU AGPP91STMX
  • Accossato's compound for off-road riders
  • Tolerates dust, grit and water at the caliper
  • Only sensible if your RC 250 often leaves tarmac
  • OR and ST suit road use better
  • Accossato also lists the RC 250 Upgrade DS version
  • No ABE on file with us; for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato states that STMX is its compound for riders who leave the road, and that is all it says about the mixture. For its pads in general, the company claims reduced fade through limited heat, strong stopping and slow wear. The STMX block is bonded to the regular AGPP91 plate and fits the rear caliper of the RC 250 without modification.

Dust and Gravel on a Road Bike

For riders who live in the countryside, a gravel track to the front door is not unusual. On loose ground the rear brake does more of the slowing, because the front tyre can slide on stones. That exposes the rear caliper to grit and spray, and a dirt-oriented pad copes with it. If your RC 250 never leaves tarmac, the everyday or wet-weather version on the same plate will serve you better.

After dusty rides, rinse the caliper and check the disc for grooves. When fitting, clean the pistons and pump the pedal until the pressure is back, then try it gently in the yard.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPP91 is listed for the rear of the KTM RC 250 in 2014 and 2015, including the RC 250 Upgrade DS version named by Accossato. AGPA184 is the corresponding front pad, and no disc is catalogued. Compare old and new pads before fitting.

Road Approval

AGPP91STMX has no ABE or approval certificate known to us. It is offered for off-road competition use.

Scope of Delivery
