DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the Kawasaki VERSYS 1000 (2015–2016), the HS051 replaces the stock cable clutch with a hydraulic system built around a clutch pump with a 13.5 mm piston, a clutch hose and the AT002-43-53 actuator. The kit is made in Italy, described by Accossato as lightweight and easy to fit, and aimed at cutting the effort needed to work the clutch lever. Fitting is intended for a qualified workshop, with the system then filled, bled and checked for correct operation before the bike is ridden; DOT 4 is the only fluid specified.
Key Features
- Converts the cable-operated clutch to hydraulic operation
- Clutch pump with a 13.5 mm piston
- Clutch hose included
- AT002-43-53 actuator specific to this application
- Lightweight, made in Italy
- Said by Accossato to reduce lever effort and need little maintenance
- DOT 4 fluid only
Construction and Material Quality
The kit replaces the VERSYS 1000's factory cable and lever with a clutch pump machined to a 13.5 mm piston diameter, paired with a dedicated clutch hose and the AT002-43-53 actuator at the gearbox end. Accossato builds it in Italy and presents it as a lightweight part that keeps the installation simple rather than adding complexity to the clutch system. Maintenance, according to Accossato, is minimal once the system has been bled, and DOT 4 is the only fluid specified for it.
A Touring Bike's Clutch Hand, Over Distance
The VERSYS 1000 is built with motorway touring and loaded riding in mind, often carrying luggage and sometimes a passenger, and the clutch sees repeated use pulling away from a stop with that extra weight on board. A hydraulic system transmits the rider's input at the lever more directly than a cable, which has some give built into its construction, and Accossato's own description of the kit centres on cutting the effort that repeated use demands. On a multi-day tour, where the same motion is repeated dozens of times before the day is done, a lighter, more consistent pull is more noticeable than it would be on a bike only ridden for short trips.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing is confirmed for the Kawasaki VERSYS 1000 (2015–2016); the BMW F700GS, built from 2006 to 2015, takes the same clutch pump, hose and AT002-43-53 actuator and is listed separately on this site. The Fitment tab on this page sets out the exact production years for the VERSYS 1000.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the HS051; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use.
