Dark, in a Bright Position

Colour and position pull against each other here, and that is the interesting part. The high lateral mount puts the silencer where light falls on it and where the eye travels along the tail; the dark finish takes that light back.

What you end up with is an exhaust that is unmistakably there in outline but does not shout in the way raw titanium does. On a bike finished in a strong colour it reads as a deliberate black accent. On a matt or dark motorcycle it comes close to disappearing while still sitting out where the mounting puts it. The titanium version, GTR0506TOM, costs exactly the same and does the opposite.

The Case Itself

Spark describes the Moto GP silencer as round, very short, with a large outlet diameter chosen to emphasise the three-cylinder note. It is the most compact case in the range for this bike, and the shape is the point rather than a compromise.

Length is what a silencer normally uses to absorb energy, so a case this short is only possible on an approved system because the catalysed pre-silencer box in front has already done the work. That architecture is what lets Spark put a race-shaped silencer on a road-legal exhaust.

Nothing Given Up

Spark lists this kit as compatible with the passenger footrests and states Euro 4 and Euro 5 compliance for the family. The pre-silencer box is very thin-walled AISI 304 with a catalytic converter inside — racing cell count, rich noble-metal impregnation — and Spark's stated result is more performance without any ECU modification.

For a bike that has to stay registered and usable two-up, that is the full set of requirements met by an exhaust that looks like none of them mattered.

Triumph Street Triple 765 R, RS and S, 2020 through 2022. The titanium version is GTR0506TOM. The same high position with the Grid-O is GTR0505TOM, or GTR0505BOM with the black ceramic box. The low mounting with this silencer is GTR0504DOM. Mounts on the standard collector or Spark's GTR8502.
