Eye width and bore diameter both have to match the chassis mount. Thread size and eye diameter identify the part. A worn end eye bearing is a common source of rear-end vagueness that gets blamed on damping.

Original Öhlins Part

An original part keeps the unit within its published specification; a near-equivalent quietly moves it. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Part number 24504-01 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. End caps carry adjusters, seals and often the gas valve. Spherical bearings in the eye let the damper move without binding as the linkage arcs.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 24504-01

Category: End Caps

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/24504-01_bb4b8153-bdcb-4db5-90f9-7de8f4a20147.png?v=1788880685
