The Brutale 800 is MV Agusta's three-cylinder naked in its most numerous form. The JP ACS 060 replaces its throttle housing with a milled Ergal unit and a shorter cam.

A Triple With a Backwards Crank
MV rotates the crankshaft against the direction of travel, which cancels part of the gyroscopic effect of the wheels and makes the bike change direction unusually quickly. It is a MotoGP idea applied to a road motorcycle, and it is the reason a Brutale steers the way it does.
Ten Model Years and Many Names
Brutale 800, RR, RC, America, Pirelli, Rosso, SCS. MV Agusta produced a great many versions of essentially the same motorcycle, distinguished by state of tune, suspension and paint. They share this throttle housing because mechanically they are one bike.
Why Shorten the Cam
The standard throttle action is long, which suits a machine sold to a broad audience and frustrates riders using the engine properly. A shorter cam brings full opening within a smaller wrist rotation, and on a triple with this much midrange it is felt immediately.
Cables, Not Wires
This generation uses conventional throttle cables, so the change is entirely mechanical. The original cables are retained and nothing electrical is touched, which keeps the conversion simple and completely reversible.
Machined Rather Than Cast
MV's own housing is a casting with a moulded cover. This one is cut from a single billet of Ergal 7075, which matters less for strength than for how precisely the tube runs in the body and how long that precision lasts.
No Lettering
JetPrime also produces this housing with its own logo milled into the flank. This version is plain, which suits an owner who has already spent considerable effort making the motorcycle look like theirs rather than anyone else's.
