Bolts in Line
The aligned pattern for one of the two master cylinder clamps. The offset version exists for the other and a catalogue image will not distinguish them.
Sold as One Thing
Ducati does not offer the switches apart from the block. That is the practical reason this component exists in this form rather than as a switch cluster alone.
Electrolytic, Not Applied
Anodising converts the surface of the aluminium chemically. On a naked bike whose cockpit is on display from outside, a chipped coating would be visible from three metres.
How a Terminal Gives Up
Oxidation rather than breakage. The contact develops resistance over a season and the function becomes unreliable long before it stops entirely.
Twenty Minutes, No Splices
Two fasteners and a connector, with the harness untouched. The standard block goes back on in the same time before a sale, leaving nothing behind.
A Tolerance That Holds
A cut component is identical from the first unit of a run to the last. Moulding tools wear, and late parts do not sit quite as the early ones did.
A Hundred and Fifty-Three Horsepower
The 955 cc Superquadro behind a wide handlebar with no bodywork. Easier to live with than the V4 Streetfighter and very nearly as entertaining on a real road.
A Twin With a Top End
The Superquadro's bore-to-stroke ratio takes it somewhere no conventional V-twin goes. In the last two thousand revs it behaves like a small four.
The Swingarm People Notice
Single-sided, carried over from the Panigale. On a motorcycle with no bodywork to hide behind it does a great deal of the visual work by itself.
