Öhlins on a Naked Bike
The Factory specification brought Öhlins forks, shock and steering damper to a motorcycle with no fairing and a wide handlebar. It is an unusual combination and it makes the bike considerably more composed at the speeds the engine reaches.
Derived From a Superbike
The frame, the engine architecture and the electronics come from the RSV4. Aprilia raised the bars, retuned the intake and removed the fairing, and the result was quicker on most roads than the bike it came from.
Torque Where It Is Used
The 1077 cc engine makes 121 Nm and holds it across a wide band. On a naked bike that matters more than the peak figure, because the rider is rarely in a position to use fourteen thousand revs.
Either Master Cylinder
The universal hole pattern fits the original clamp and the radial aftermarket units. A Factory owner has usually changed something at the lever end already, and this switch does not care which.
The Last Plastic Component
Öhlins at both ends, forged wheels, Brembo calipers. The right-hand switch remains injection moulded with a printed legend, and on a bike specified this thoroughly it is conspicuous from the saddle.
Three Finishes
Black, red and titanium anodised through the surface. Titanium sits closest to the gold suspension without attempting to match it, which is usually the more successful choice.
Straight Swap
Pre-wired to Aprilia's connector with sealed elements inside the machined body. The old block comes off, this one goes on, and the dashboard shows nothing it did not show before.
