That is when a track bike meets a hot pressure washer, with everything still warm. It ends more switchgear than mileage ever has and it happens after every session.
Changed Without Stopping

Military-Specification Elements
Sealed considerably beyond road requirement. A competition motorcycle meets more water in one season, most of it from a jet, than a road bike does in five years.
Stripped Between Rounds
A race bike comes apart as a matter of routine. A body cut from solid tolerates that indefinitely where a clipped moulded one gradually stops sitting tightly.
Road Layout Returns
Nothing is spliced, so the standard block can go back on before a sale. A V4 that has been raced presents considerably better with its original switchgear.
Four Finishes
Black, red, titanium and copper. On a race bike the finish is judged by how it survives cleaning rather than by how it photographs on a stand.
A Superbike That Sold
The V4 outsold every Ducati superbike before it, which is unusual for a flagship. Enough of them reach circuits that a dedicated race control layout is a sensible product.
Quick Shift EVO 2
Ducati's shifter adjusts its cut time by gear and by throttle position rather than using one value. On a V4 revving to 14.500 that difference is measurable.
A Chassis Reworked for 2022
Ducati raised the swingarm pivot and revised the aerodynamics partway through the model's life. The later bikes are noticeably better on corner exit than the first ones were.
