The JP ES 005 is the mechanical half of the secondary air deletion on the Panigale 1199 S: the housing comes off the head and aluminium goes on in its place.

Ohlins Suspension
NIX30 forks and a TTX36 shock, mechanically adjustable rather than electronic on the earlier bikes. It is the specification a race build would have bought anyway.
Plastic on a Hot Casting
The housing endures the widest thermal swing on the motorcycle. Reeds crack with age rather than mileage, and a cracked reed passes gas the wrong way.
Before Any Mapping
Air entering the exhaust after combustion moves the readings, and every fuelling decision taken from those readings inherits the movement.
Why This Is Not Urgent
A working system does no harm. The case is strongest on an older motorcycle where the reeds are past their life, or on one being fully converted.
The Case Against Improvising
A bolt and a washer, a rubber bung or a smear of epoxy will all hold for a while. None survives a season of heat cycling.
The Cover Is Not the Circuit
The dashboard warning comes from the solenoid, and this part does nothing about it. That surprises a fair number of owners every year.

Working Around the Belts
On the older twins the cambelt covers sit close to where the hand needs to go, and it is worth knowing which fasteners are which before starting. Nothing about the secondary air housing requires the belt covers to come off, and taking them off unnecessarily invites a job nobody wanted.
