DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the 2024 Zero DS with the ZF17.3, Accossato lists the AGPA96 front pad, and this version uses the ZXC ceramic racing compound. Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing. It is for the small group of owners who compete with their electric dual-sport on closed courses, prepare it between sessions and want a front brake material designed for competition rather than for everyday use.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Zero DS, 2024
- Listed for the DS ZF17.3 by Accossato
- AGPA96 shape in the ZXC ceramic racing compound, code AGPA96ZXC
- Ceramic compound ideal for racing, per Accossato
- For competition use with repeated hard stops
- Two pads per box for one caliper
- No German ABE held; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's ZXC is its ceramic racing material. The company keeps its description short, calling it ideal for racing. In the AGPA96 for the 2024 DS it gives a front pad meant for the heat and load of competition, with low fade and a long life. OR, ST, EV1 and EV2 versions are listed for the same pad. Two pads come in each box, one set for a caliper.
Racing an Electric Dual-Sport
Competing on an electric bike brings its own rhythm. Between sessions the battery needs charging, and riders use that time to look at the brakes, tyres and suspension. A ceramic racing pad gives a clear, repeatable response once it is up to temperature, which makes it easier to judge braking points lap after lap. Tyres suited to tarmac are essential if the brakes are to be used to their full potential.
Pit Routine
Inspect pad thickness and the disc between sessions, and keep the fluid fresh. After fitting new pads, pump the lever until firm and bed them in carefully on the first laps.
Fitment and Compatibility
For racing use on the 2024 Zero DS, the ceramic pad goes into the front caliper that Accossato lists for the ZF17.3 version. Earlier DS machines, from 2015 to 2017, are served by the AGPA92 shape. At the rear of a 2024 bike, the AGPA29 is Accossato's matching pad; the 2014 to 2017 DS uses the AGPP91. Count your front calipers before ordering, because a box covers only one.
Road Approval
No German ABE or approval documents are available to us for this pad. It is sold for racing only.
Scope of Delivery
