DescriptionThe whole story▼
Touring on a Triumph Speedmaster 1200 with a passenger and a pair of leather saddlebags is a comfortable way to cover distance, but the extra weight makes itself felt every time the bike has to stop. Add a rainy afternoon, and the front brakes need to work reliably on wet discs. Accossato's AGPA29 front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is listed for the Speedmaster from 2018 to 2025 and is intended for two-up touring, luggage and changeable weather.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pads, article AGPA29ST
- For the Triumph Speedmaster 1200, 2018 to 2025
- For two-up touring, luggage and wet weather
- Accossato quotes steady grip hot and cold, and in the rain
- Two pads per box; two boxes for both front calipers
- Also made as OR, STMX and EV1
Construction and Material Quality
The ST compound in the AGPA29 range is sintered. Accossato states that it keeps a high and constant grip level at both low and high temperatures and performs well on wet discs. On a heavy cruiser with passenger and luggage, that consistency lets the rider judge braking distances with confidence, whatever the weather. Accossato also designs its pads for long service life and resistance to fade.
Two Up and Loaded
The Speedmaster 1200 carries weight well, but physics still applies: more mass means longer stopping distances. Brake earlier and more progressively than when riding alone, use both brakes together, and warn your passenger before slowing hard. In the rain, a sintered pad that bites promptly on a wet disc helps to keep stops smooth. Before a trip, check that both front calipers have enough pad material, that the fluid is fresh, and that tyre pressures are set for the load.
Fitment and Compatibility
Two front discs and two calipers stop the Triumph Speedmaster 1200, and Accossato lists this AGPA29 front pad for model years 2018 to 2025. Each box covers one caliper, so the front needs two. For the earlier Speedmaster 800 and 900, Accossato lists the AGPA72 at the front and the AGPA76 at the rear. Other versions of the AGPA29 are Organic, STMX and EV1.
Road Approval
No German ABE or road approval report is available to us for this sintered pad. It is supplied for circuit and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
