DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Benelli TRK 502 has become a popular choice for riders who want an adventure bike without the bulk of the big-capacity machines: a parallel twin, a tall screen, a comfortable seat and room for luggage. It is often ridden on long trips with a tent strapped to the rack, and campsites bring their own hazards. Soft grass, a sloping pitch and a side stand that sinks overnight can put a loaded bike on its side before breakfast. For the TRK 502 of 2016 to 2019, Accossato lists the PF033, a black pair of front axle sliders in aluminium and plastic.
Key Features
- Front axle sliders for the Benelli TRK 502, 2016 to 2019
- Accossato Front Fork Protection, code PF033
- Aluminium and plastic, finished in black
- Two protectors, one for each side
- Spacers, screws and all fitting parts included, according to Accossato
- Intended to make first contact and help limit damage at the fork ends
- Also listed at Inter-Pace for the Ducati Panigale 1199, 899 and 959
- No German ABE; for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
The PF033 consists of aluminium and plastic in a black finish. Two come in the pack, and Accossato states that spacers, screws and all other parts required for fitting are included, which is useful if you want to fit them yourself the weekend before a trip. How exactly they sit on the TRK 502 is not described, and we do not guess. The idea is simple: they should make contact before the fork and front axle do, which may reduce the damage when the bike goes over.
A Night on the Campsite
Camping with a motorcycle is a lesson in ground conditions. Grass that feels firm in the evening can soften overnight after rain or heavy dew, and a side stand that sat on the surface at dusk may have sunk deep into it by morning. A fully loaded TRK 502 then leans further and further until it falls. A small plate under the side stand, a flattened can or a piece of wood solves the problem and weighs almost nothing. Park on the firmest part of the pitch, facing uphill if the ground slopes, and leave the bike in gear. If it does go over, only lift it with the luggage still on if you can do so safely; otherwise unload first. Check the sliders, levers and mirrors before setting off, and replace a slider that is bent or deeply scraped when you get home.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the PF033 for the TRK 502 from 2016 to 2019. At Inter-Pace the same part is also catalogued for three Ducati sports bikes, the Panigale 1199, 899 and 959, an unexpected set of companions for an adventure tourer. After fitting, spin the front wheel and turn the bars from lock to lock to check that nothing touches the calipers or the mudguard. Tighten the screws to the values in Benelli's workshop manual.
Road Approval
We have not received a German ABE or any test documents for the PF033, and so we list it for racing and competitive events.
Scope of Delivery
