DescriptionThe whole story▼
There are riders who race everything, cruisers included, in custom classes, fun races and cruiser cups. For a Kawasaki VN900 Custom built for that kind of competition, Accossato offers the AGPA95 front pad in the EV2 racing compound, catalogued for 2007 to 2021. It is a pad for timed sessions and races, where the front brake is used hard on every approach and has to keep its character over a whole race distance.
Key Features
- AGPA95 front pads for the Kawasaki VN900 Custom, 2007 to 2021
- EV2 racing compound, article AGPA95EV2
- Rated by Accossato as a top racing mixture
- For hard, repeated stops at race speed
- Suited to cruiser cups and timed practice
- Other compounds on this plate: OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
- No German approval on file; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes EV2 as a top racing compound, intended for riders who use the brake at full effort over and over. The company adds that its pads run cooler than they otherwise would, which limits fade, that they are long-lasting and that they stop strongly. The EV2 layer is bonded to the AGPA95 plate.
Cruiser Cup Weekends
Racing a cruiser is about carrying momentum: brake hard in a straight line, release smoothly, and roll through the apex before the footpegs touch. Each lap repeats the same hard stops, and the brake has to deliver them consistently. On a VN900 Custom prepared for such events, EV2 is the compound designed for that repetitive work.
In the paddock, look over pads and disc after each outing, top up or replace the fluid if the lever travel changes, and clean the pistons before pushing them back for a pad swap. Keep chain spray and tyre warmers' dust away from the disc. Once the weekend is over, fit a fresh set before the next event if the old pads have worn unevenly or glazed, and make a note of how many sessions they lasted.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA95 is catalogued for the front of the VN 900 Custom, 2007 to 2021, which is the Kawasaki VN900 Custom in our garage. The rear uses AGPP251 over the same years, and no Accossato disc is listed. One front caliper, one box. Compare the pad outline before fitting.
Road Approval
AGPA95EV2 has been supplied without an ABE or approval document and is intended for motorsport.
