DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Brutale 800 RR is a fast, sharp triple, and many owners of the 2016 to 2022 bikes eventually want to see what it can do on a circuit. This EV1 street/track front pad set is chosen for that stage: a rider who enjoys spirited road riding, is signing up for an organised track day and wants one pad that works both on the ride there and in the sessions themselves.
Key Features
- EV1 street/track compound for the Brutale 800 RR front
- Years 2016 to 2022
- Excellent grip on the road and in amateur track use, says Accossato
- Handles the step up from fast roads to a first circuit day
- Readable lever feel as speeds climb
- Two pads in each box, one caliper
Construction and Material Quality
EV1 is described by Accossato as delivering excellent grip for street riding and amateur circuit use. That dual role is its reason to exist. The maker's usual aims also apply: low wear, controlled heat so the brake keeps working, and a high level of stopping power. On a light, fast naked such as the RR, the compound is meant to give confidence at speeds the bike rarely sees on public roads.
An Organised Track Day on the RR
Most track day organisers split riders into groups by pace, with instructors in the slower ones. On a first visit you learn braking markers, how to squeeze the lever progressively and how to release it into the corner. Each session puts more heat into the front pads than a whole week on the road. EV1 is meant for that learning curve without being awkward on the way home. If the circuit becomes a habit, EV2 and ZXC are the racing mixtures for this pad shape, while OR and ST lean towards everyday use.
Getting the Bike Ready
Fit the new pads to both front calipers some days before the event and bed them in during normal rides. Many organisers recommend fresh brake fluid; ask yours. Clean the pistons before pushing them back, make sure the discs are free of residue, and check that the lever is firm before the first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA96 for the front of the MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR from 2016 to 2022. The rear caliper of the RR uses AGPA42, which the catalogue shows up to 2025. There are two calipers at the front, so plan for two boxes, and possibly a spare set if you are booked on several track days in a season.
Road Approval
Neither an ABE nor a test mark has been provided to us for this product. It is sold for circuit and competition use.
