DescriptionThe whole story▼
The breath guard is a small part with a big effect on a cold morning: it sends the air you breathe out downwards, away from the visor. AC83025P is Shark's LARGE BREATH GUARD, in French MASQUE ANTI BUEE GRAND MODÈLE, supplied in the single version code CU. It is a part that wears with every ride, simply because it sits in warm, moist air.
Key Features
- Breath guard, large model, part number AC83025P
- Supplier designation LARGE BREATH GUARD
- Single version code CU, variant AC83025PCUTU
- One universal size
- Listed weight 0.006 kg, customs tariff number 6117100000
Why it is a wear part
It spends its whole life in the moist air you breathe out, gets bent every time the helmet goes on and off, and collects skin oil. After a while the edge no longer seals against your face and it starts to let breath through to the visor. That is the point to replace it.
Fitting
Take out the old guard by holding it at its base, not at the thin edge, and note how it sits. Put the new one into the same position and check with the helmet on that it does not press uncomfortably on your nose.
Keeping it serviceable
Rinse it with lukewarm water and a little mild soap when it looks grimy, and let it dry in the air before refitting. Heat from a radiator or hair dryer deforms thin parts like this, so avoid both.
Ordering by part number
Shark lists this guard only with the code CU, not with a described finish; the code on the original is what you compare. Note that there is a second LARGE BREATH GUARD with its own number, AC83020P, listed without a version code and at a different price, and a LITTLE BREATH GUARD, AC83010P. Neither the price list nor Shark's website names a helmet for AC83025P, so the number on your old guard is the only reliable reference.
