Outer diameter sets the lever the oil works against, and thickness sets the resistance.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 00186-03

Function

Öhlins publishes no separate dimension for this position, so the part number carries the identity. Face flatness matters as much as thickness — a shim that does not seal against its neighbour leaks damping. Revalving means changing the stack, not the piston — that is why shims are sold singly. A worn or bent shim shows up as damping that has quietly drifted from the setting sheet.

Original Öhlins Part

Rebuilding to specification only works if the parts are to specification — that starts here. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise.

How to Be Sure It Fits

Part number 00186-03 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. Where no measurement is given, the drawing position is what identifies the part. Öhlins stamps and grinds its shims to tolerances a general-purpose washer never holds. Revalving means changing the stack, which is why Öhlins sells shims individually.

Fitting and Setup Service

Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00186-03

Category: Shims

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00186-03_02d2a9da-4c46-4f88-a7fa-f9b0da7059e8.png?v=1788871331
