Key Features
- Öhlins part number 01460-69
- Dimension A 31 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
- Dimension B 88 mm
Function
Öhlins publishes 31 mm, 88 mm for 01460-69 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Hydraulic preload adjusters are sealed and pressurised; they are replaced as a unit. The needle tip is the wear part: once rounded, the first few clicks stop doing anything. The preload tube transfers the spring load to the adjuster and sets the installed length.
Why the Original
Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.
How to Be Sure It Fits
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 01460-69. dimension a 31 mm, dimension b 88 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. The needle tip is the wear part: once rounded, the first few clicks stop doing anything. Detent balls and springs are separate parts because they wear before the housing does.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
