Bolts on One Axis
The aligned pattern is one of two in circulation and the master cylinder clamp decides which a bike can take. There is no adapting the other version to fit.
A Tool Against a Programme
An injection mould is a large fixed investment needing enormous volume to justify. A machining file costs almost nothing to change, which is why parts for single models exist at all.
Dust Outlasts Rain
Water dries out of a joint given a warm afternoon. Grit does not; it works past a clipped cover, settles against a terminal and stays there permanently.
What Hits the Ground
In any low-speed fall the bar end arrives first and the switch block is next. A moulded shell splits along its clip line where a milled body scuffs and carries on working.
A Little Heavier
Billet aluminium weighs marginally more than the plastic it replaces. Nobody fits one to save weight and it is more useful to say so than to imply otherwise.
Elements Enclosed
The contacts sit inside the machined body rather than behind a lid. There is no cover to lose tension and no seam for anything to travel along.
A Superbike That Sold
The V4 outsold every Ducati superbike before it, which is unusual for a flagship. Volume is why an aftermarket for it exists at this level of specificity.
Twenty-Four Thousand Kilometres
Between valve checks on the Stradale. For a desmodromic V4 revving to 14.500 that is remarkable and it changed what owning a Ducati superbike actually costs.
A Chassis Revised in 2022
Ducati raised the swingarm pivot and reworked the aerodynamics partway through the model's life. The later bikes are noticeably better on corner exit than the first ones.
