Cheap to Own
Insurance, tyres and servicing all cost very little, which is the whole point of a motorcycle in this class.

The larger bike is better in every measurable way, which has pushed Z300 values down to the point where they are genuine bargains.
The Interlock
Kawasaki cuts the engine if a gear is selected while the stand is down. It exists for a specific low-speed accident that catches experienced riders as readily as new ones.
Refit Before Selling
A buyer expects the safety systems to work as described, and putting the standard switch back is a five-minute job that avoids the conversation entirely.
Not a Weight Saving
The switch weighs nothing at all. This is about a failed component or a removed stand and never about mass, whatever anybody claims.
The Connector, Not the Switch
More often than not it is the plug that gives up rather than the mechanism. Cleaning it and packing it with grease sometimes buys another year.
An Organiser's View
Most track day operators would rather not see a sidestand at all, which is one of several reasons it leaves before anything else does.
The Complete Job
Put the motorcycle on a paddock stand, find the connector near the swingarm pivot, unplug the switch, plug in the eliminator and secure the lead against chafing. Nothing else is required and no tool beyond what is already in hand.
A First Motorcycle
Most Z300s are ridden by people learning, which means low-speed drops and the damage that follows. Everything low on the left of the motorcycle takes that punishment first.
