Adjustment Rather Than Power
The Factory brings fully adjustable Kayaba suspension, a lighter battery and a single seat. On a 183 kilogram motorcycle that is a better use of money than another five horsepower would have been.
The Column Reordered
Every function of the street block, in a different order, with the blue button at the bottom. It is a change aimed at a rider making the same input twenty times in a session.
A Twin That Wants Revs
The 659 cc engine peaks at 10.500 rpm, high for the format, because it shares its bore and stroke with a V4 superbike. It behaves nothing like the torquey twins that dominate the class.
Universal Holes
The clamp pattern accepts both the original master cylinder and the common radial replacements. One part number covers the bike as sold and the bike after its first brake upgrade.
Where the Weight Is Not
Engine as a stressed member, no rear subframe, a compact frame around a narrow twin. Aprilia removed structure rather than adding lightness, which is the harder and more effective way to do it.
Black Anodised
A single finish converted into the aluminium. The Factory's livery is distinctive enough that a quiet cockpit generally suits it better than a contrasting one.
Machined and Sealed
Cut from one block of Ergal 7075 with the elements enclosed. There is no moulded joint for water to work past on a motorcycle that offers its controls no shelter at all.
Original Plug
Pre-wired to Aprilia's connector, so nothing is spliced. The block goes on in fifteen minutes and comes off in the same time if the bike is sold.
