DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders setting up a bike for long days in the saddle rather than short circuit sessions often reach for the PZ012, Accossato's 108 mm two-piece billet caliper, here finished in copper oxidation. It carries a 34 mm and a 38 mm aluminium piston, a dust seal and a pair of AGPA96 pads fitted from the factory. Six further oxidised colours are sold as separate listings on the same caliper body.
Key Features
- Two-piece billet radial brake caliper, made in Italy
- 108 mm centre distance, 22.5 mm offset
- Aluminium pistons, 34 mm and 38 mm diameter
- Dust seal fitted
- Pads included, code AGPA96, ST or ZXC compound
- Copper oxidation finish
- Listed for 72 models in our garage, see the Fitment tab
- Supplied as a matched pair or right caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds the PZ012 from two separate aluminium sections machined on five-axis CNC centres and then joined into the finished caliper, rather than forging the body as one piece, the same approach used on the shorter PZ011. The 34 mm and 38 mm pistons, the dust seal and the AGPA96 pads are fitted once the two halves are assembled, and the copper oxidation is applied to the completed body as the last manufacturing step in the process.
A Caliper Built for Daily Mileage Rather Than a Single Trackday
With the dust seal keeping dirt and water out of the piston bores and pads supplied in the ST sintered compound, a material Accossato describes as holding a consistent level of grip across hot, cold and wet conditions, the PZ012 suits a bike that covers motorway miles and wet mornings as often as it sees a circuit. The ZXC ceramic compound remains available on the same caliper where racing use is the priority instead, so the choice of pad sits with the rider rather than the caliper itself, and can be changed again later without touching the caliper body.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato records the PZ012 against 72 models in our garage, see the Fitment tab, a list that leans toward later Honda, Kawasaki and CFMOTO machines such as the Honda CBR1000RR-R SP, CB1000R, Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX and the CFMOTO MT-X 800, out of 111 fitment lines logged in total. A bike not on that list should still have its 108 mm centre distance and 22.5 mm offset checked against the fork and disc already fitted before ordering.
Road Approval
Accossato does not supply ABE documentation for the PZ012, so fitting it to a road-registered motorcycle in place of the original caliper is subject to registration with the responsible authority beforehand. The brake system is safety-relevant, so a qualified workshop should carry out the fitting.
Scope of Delivery
1x Accossato PZ012 two-piece billet radial brake caliper in copper oxidation, supplied as a matched pair or right caliper depending on the option chosen, with aluminium pistons, dust seal and AGPA96 pads in the selected compound already fitted.
