DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Rivale 800 is one of MV Agusta's more unusual triples: tall, slim and upright, with wide handlebars and a stance that owes something to supermoto bikes. It suits tight, twisty circuits and riders who enjoy flicking a bike from one side to the other. That off-road flavour creates a small link to the maker of this cap, because Accossato's history includes an Enduro world title in 1985, and enduro riders have their own way of dealing with fuel. For the Rivale 800 of 2014 to 2016, Accossato lists the FC101, a quick-release tank cap milled from aluminium.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the MV Agusta Rivale 800, 2014 to 2016
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl can be replaced on its own
- New design, robust and durable according to Accossato
- No German ABE documented; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
The FC101 is aluminium in every part of its body, machined on CNC equipment, and Accossato calls it robust and durable. The design is new. A quick-closing pawl opens the Rivale 800's filler swiftly and closes it again in one movement. The pin on the pawl comes in the colour you choose, and if the pawl is damaged, Accossato sells it separately.
What Enduro Riders Know About Refuelling
In enduro, refuelling is part of the race. Riders stop at designated points against the clock, with the engine switched off, and at many events fuel may only be handled over an environmental mat that protects the ground. Speed comes from preparation rather than haste: the can is ready, the helper knows the routine and nobody improvises. A track day on the Rivale 800 is far more relaxed, but the same habits make it smoother. Choose one spot in your paddock space for refuelling, away from the generator and the awning, and lay a mat or an absorbent cloth under the bike there. Keep the can in that spot and nowhere else. Switch the engine off, let it cool, open the FC101, pour and close it again, then wipe the tank. If a friend helps, agree beforehand who holds the bike and who pours. It takes little time, and it turns refuelling into a routine instead of a hurried job between sessions.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the Rivale 800 of 2014 to 2016 with the FC101, and this product covers those years. The same cap is also listed with us for the F3 675 and the Brutale 800, as well as for the KTM 690 Duke. Before ordering, check your Rivale 800 against the application list.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a parts certificate is documented for the FC101, so it is sold for circuits. On public roads the Rivale 800 keeps its original cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
