DescriptionThe whole story▼
Early examples of the S 1000 RR, now well into their second decade, are a common sight in club racing and track-day groups. Riders who take the sport seriously often run a second set of wheels, and each of those wheels needs its own discs. Accossato lists the DK007 for the S 1000 RR from 2009 to 2022: a fixed front disc of 320 mm made as a single steel piece, which Accossato lists with conditions: a fitting kit is required, the 2009 to 2014 entry refers to one specific front caliper version and the 2019 to 2022 entry to bikes with forged wheels. Construction and Material Quality
The DK007 is a straightforward fixed disc: one piece of steel, with the friction ring and the centre formed together. It measures 320 mm at the outer edge and has a 181 mm bore; the friction face is 5 mm thick when new. Accossato says the design draws on its work in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and that the low weight of its discs helps steering, a point any rider who has flicked a superbike through a chicane will appreciate. The minimum working thickness is printed on every disc.
A Second Set of Wheels
Club racers and committed track-day riders often keep two sets of wheels for the S 1000 RR: one with slicks or track tyres, one with rain tyres, so that a change in the weather means a wheel swap rather than a tyre change in the paddock. Each front wheel then needs its own discs, and both sets should be in similar condition, otherwise the bike feels different at the lever every time you switch. Fit new discs as matching sets, bed in each wheel's discs and pads separately, and label the wheels so that pads and discs stay together. Keep a simple record for each set: sessions ridden, thickness at the last check, any heat marks noticed. The rain wheels may cover fewer laps but still suffer, because water and grit wear pads and discs faster. Before every event, check the wheel spacers and disc bolts, and inspect both sets against the printed minimum. Accossato's warning that worn discs can fail under extreme load matters most in exactly this kind of use.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DK007 for the S 1000 RR from 2009 to 2022, spread across several entries for the superbike's generations. For the S 1000 RR from 2017 to 2025 the list also names the DK006, which has a smaller outer diameter. Measure the discs on your bike before ordering; the DK007 suits a disc 320 mm across. Each front wheel carries two discs, and the price is for one.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no type approval are recorded for the DK007. It belongs on the circuit.
