DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha YZ125 is one of motocross's long-running two-strokes, built since the 1970s and still valued for its light, lively feel. Riding a 125 two-stroke fast is largely about not slowing down: every metre of lost speed has to be won back with a small engine, so good 125 riders brake late, briefly and precisely. Accossato's B8265 suits that style on the YZ125 of 2008 to 2022. The front brake lever is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, and its blade is mounted on a joint that lets it fold forward in a crash.

Construction and Material Quality
Lightness is the whole point of a 125, and the B8265 is in keeping with it. Accossato machines the lever in Italy from a solid block of Ergal 7075, an aluminium alloy whose strength allows a light part, and names strength, low weight and reliability as its aims. The base, dark in finish, pivots on the master cylinder; the blade, in black, blue or green, is joined to it so that it can fold. The blade is short and designed for three fingers, enough for the firm, brief squeezes a 125 rider uses.
Carrying Speed on a 125
A four-stroke 450 can afford to brake hard, because its engine will make up the lost speed in a moment. A YZ125 cannot. Its power sits in a narrow band high in the rev range, and once the revs drop away in a corner, it takes time and clutch work to get the engine singing again. So 125 riders learn to carry speed: they brake later and more lightly than riders on bigger bikes, pick lines that keep the momentum flowing, and use the front brake to set the entry speed in one short, firm squeeze instead of a long drag. The lever has to be exactly where the fingers expect it, lap after lap.
Carrying speed means taking risks, and on a 125 the crashes that follow are often fast low-sides, the front washing out on corner entry and the bike sliding along on its side. When the YZ125 goes down on its right, the joint in the B8265 lets the blade flip forward rather than snap at the tip. If it does, you can pick up the bike, check the lever and rejoin the race with a front brake you can rely on. No lever survives every crash, and a spare in the pit box is still sensible, but on a bike that lives on momentum, getting going again quickly matters.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the B8265 for the Yamaha YZ125 in two version groups, 2008 to 2014 and 2015 to 2022, and it replaces the stock lever on the original front brake master cylinder. The folding C7266 clutch lever is listed only for the bikes from 2015 to 2022, so a YZ125 from 2008 to 2014 can be fitted on the brake side only. The clutch lever comes in black or blue; green is available only on this brake lever.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the B8265. It is intended for motocross and closed-course competition, the setting the YZ125 is built for.
