Three cloths are catalogued for this airbox, and one of them is a racing medium — the P08 F1-85, rated at 85 microns and 15,000 l/m²/sec, listed against the SRK 600 RS and four of its stablemates but not against all seven machines the standard P08 covers. It also asks for more than three times what this element does. That option is real, and for very nearly everyone reading this page it is the wrong one. It is worth understanding why before paying for throughput that a road-going motorcycle has no way to spend.
Key Features
- P08 medium: dry polyester weave at 80 µm and a rated 5,050 l/m²/sec
- The medium Sprint Filter designates for road and track use across its range
- The same housing also takes the F1-85 racing cloth, 85 µm and 15,000 l/m²/sec
- Direct replacement for the paper panel — no modification, no remapping
- Roughly double the filtering area of an ordinary performance element
- Washed with compressed air, never oiled, warranted for two years
Throughput a road bike cannot spend
The racing weave buys its flow figure by giving up retention: a coarser opening at 85 microns instead of 80, in exchange for roughly three times the rated throughput. Those numbers are drawn for engines that have been developed around them. A standard SRK 600 RS is fed by an airbox, throttle bodies and a map that QJ Motor signed off as one set, and nothing in that set is waiting on more air. Which brings the honest version of the whole category: no drop-in element makes a standard motorcycle noticeably quicker, the racing one included. It raises a ceiling for engines already pressed against it, and on the road it simply filters a little less well.
Where the racing pedigree actually sits
Sprint Filter is not shy about the competition side of its business — by the company's own account it is the most widely used air filter in MotoGP, Moto3, World Superbike, Supersport and Superstock. That is a manufacturer's statement rather than an independent measurement, and it is worth reading as one. What it does explain is why the same catalogue carries a road cloth and a racing cloth for one housing: they answer different questions. For a bike ridden to work through the week and taken to a circuit a few times a year, the road answer is the one on this page.
Care and cleaning
Blow the element through from the clean side towards the dirty one, so trapped material travels back out rather than deeper in — that is the whole routine most of the time. Heavier or oily deposits release under lukewarm water with a little mild detergent, well rinsed. Drying is done by moving air and nothing hotter: no heat gun, no radiator, no flame, and never a damp panel back in the housing. The PM209S maintenance sheet is filed under the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
The P08 element for the QJ Motor SRK 600 RS of 2025 and 2026, one panel per machine. Seven models across QJ Motor and Benelli share this part number; check your model year against the compatibility list before ordering.
