Where It Sits
The published figures are 14 mm, 144 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. The shaft is threaded at both ends: piston at one, mounting at the other. This is a part that is replaced rather than repaired. Shaft diameter sets the displaced volume, which is why it is part of the damper's specification.
Why the Original
Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier. Send us the model and serial number of your unit and we will confirm the position before you order.
Identifying the Right Part
If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 03062-09. Öhlins states diameter 14 mm, length 144 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. Any mark on the polished section is a reason to replace rather than to reassemble. Öhlins offers shafts in several lengths per diameter because the stroke differs by model.
Fitting and Setup Service
Fitting service parts means opening a pressurised unit. As an authorised Öhlins service centre we do that here, with the right tools and a dyno check afterwards — just ask.
