Function
Öhlins publishes 65 mm, 27 mm for 06157-01 — the dimensions are the identity of the part. Service parts make the difference between a damper that is rebuilt and one that is replaced. Ordering by number from the exploded view is the reliable way to get the right piece. The number on the part matches the number in the drawing, which makes identification unambiguous.
Why the Original
A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. For a full rebuild, the seal kit plus the wear parts is usually the sensible order.
How to Be Sure It Fits
06157-01 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. dimension a 65 mm, dimension b 27 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. Service parts are what make an Öhlins unit worth rebuilding rather than replacing. Öhlins publishes an exploded view for each unit, and every position in it carries its own number.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
