Reordered for Repetition
Same controls, different positions, chosen for a rider making the same input twenty times in half an hour rather than once at a junction.
Changed Through a Session
Traction and map both move as a track day progresses. On a naked bike, where the rider is also working against air pressure, finding a control by position matters more.
The Jet Reaches Everything
With no bodywork, a pressure washer has a direct line to the handlebar. Sealed elements inside a machined body are the only real defence against that.
Transported and Covered
A track bike spends most of its life damp in a van or under a sheet. That environment does more to a clipped moulded assembly than the riding ever does.
Standard Refits Quickly
Nothing cut into the harness. A Streetfighter used at circuits does not need to look like one in a classified advertisement.
A Light Naked
A hundred and seventy-eight kilograms with 120 horsepower. Ducati removed weight where the rest of the class was adding output, which makes for a considerably better track bike.
Designed Without Constraints
The 890 V2 had no capacity rule to satisfy, so it could be optimised for mass and tractability. It is the first Ducati middleweight twin built on those terms.
Affordable to Campaign
Consumables on a middleweight cost meaningfully less than on a V4. For a privateer that is the difference between a full season and half of one.
Usable Everywhere Else
Between track days it turns in a city, carries a passenger and covers distance. Very few competitive club bikes are also this straightforward to own.
