DescriptionThe whole story▼
With the Panigale V4 of 2018, Ducati's top sports bike moved to a four-cylinder engine, and its front brake was built around two 330 mm discs. Accossato's DKS036 is an Elite-line floating disc of that diameter for the Ducati Panigale V4, listed from 2018 to 2023. The friction ring is 5.5 mm thick, the carrier is black, and the rivets between them carry the Accossato logo.

Construction and Material Quality
The DKS036 is a floating disc from Accossato's Elite line. Its 330 mm friction ring, 5.5 mm thick, is held to a black carrier with a 72 mm centre by rivets that bear the Accossato logo. Because the ring is not fixed rigidly, it can expand and move a little on the carrier as its temperature changes. Accossato explains that the know-how behind this comes from competition in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and that it has examined closely how much play to allow between ring and carrier. It also says the moderate weight of its discs helps the bike change direction.
Reading the Minimum Thickness
Accossato prints a minimum working thickness on every disc it makes, and on a bike as fast as the Panigale V4 that number deserves attention. A disc wears slowly, a little with every stop, and the loss is hard to see. The only reliable check is a measurement. A micrometer is the right tool; a vernier caliper can mislead, because its jaws rest on the raised lip that forms at the outer edge of the ring, where the pads do not reach, and so give a reading that is too high. Measure at several points around each disc, in the middle of the pad track, and write the values down.
Then compare them with the printed minimum. A disc that has reached it must be replaced, since Accossato warns that a worn disc may break under extreme stress. Grooves you can feel with a fingernail, cracks of any kind and a clear difference between the two front discs are further reasons. As a rule of thumb, Accossato suggests changing discs every thirty to forty thousand kilometres, earlier if any of these signs appear. On a Panigale V4 that sees regular track use, that point may come much sooner.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the DKS036 for the Ducati Panigale V4 from 2018 to 2023; its list covers the base V4 together with the SP and SP2 versions. Two discs are fitted at the front of the Panigale V4, and the price is for one, so a full change requires two. No other Accossato disc is listed for this bike.
Road Approval
A German ABE or type approval has not been documented for the DKS036. We list it for use on the circuit and in racing.
