DescriptionThe whole story▼
Even the sportiest Scrambler does the shopping. A Scrambler 1100 Sport is as likely to stand outside a supermarket on a Saturday morning as outside a café on a mountain road, and supermarket car parks come with hazards of their own: car doors swung open without a glance, trolleys rolling across a sloping surface and drivers reversing out of tight bays. Accossato lists its TP090 crash pads for the Scrambler 1100 Sport of 2018 and 2019.
Key Features
- Crash pads for the Ducati Scrambler 1100 Sport, 2018 and 2019
- Accossato TP090, sold as a pair
- Aluminium body, CNC-machined
- Anodised insert in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Matching screw cover available as a variant
- Drilling required on some motorcycles: we check your bike before you order
- No German ABE available; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The TP090 begins as a piece of aluminium that Accossato machines on CNC equipment, and it is finished with an insert anodised in colour. There are six colours to choose from, and the screw cover, which is optional, follows the colour of the insert. The pack holds two pads. On the Scrambler 1100 Sport, their purpose is to reach the ground before anything else if the bike is knocked over, and that can reduce the damage to the frame and the components close to it. They are sacrificial, so a pad that has been badly marked is replaced.
Parked Among Cars and Trolleys
Look for a motorcycle bay first; many supermarkets have one near the entrance, where people walk slowly and look around. If there is none, avoid the spaces next to the trolley shelters and the ones directly behind a car's boot, and never squeeze in between two cars, where doors swing open into the bike. Park the Scrambler 1100 Sport at the end of a row with its nose pointing out, so you can leave without reversing, and on a sloping car park leave it facing uphill in first gear. Wind pushes empty trolleys surprisingly far on a smooth, inclined surface, so a spot at the top of the slope is safer than one at the bottom. When you come back loaded with shopping, pack the heavy items low and evenly before you climb on, and sling a full rucksack on only after the helmet is on. If you return to find the bike on its side, look at the pads, the levers and the mirror, and ask at the information desk whether anyone saw what happened.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the TP090 for the Scrambler 1100 Sport from 2018 to 2019, and we have linked it to those years. Accossato states that the fairing has to be drilled on some motorcycles for these pads, without saying which ones, so please ask us before ordering whether your Scrambler 1100 Sport needs it. The PP018 rear axle sliders, listed for 2018, can be combined with the pads. The same TP090 is listed in our shop for the Scrambler Icon, the Scrambler Sixty2 and the Monster 797.
Road Approval
Because no ABE or approval mark is on file for the TP090, we supply it for racing and competition use.
