Nitrile, Viton and PTFE behave differently with temperature, and Öhlins picks per position.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 00592-30

What It Is

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. Dust seals keep grit off the running surface; once they are torn, the oil seal behind them has a short life. Öhlins recommends replacing seals whenever the unit is opened, not only when it leaks. Assembly grease matters — the wrong compound swells the seal and it fails early.

Original Öhlins Part

Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Order by part number. The dimensions below are the ones Öhlins publishes for it. The exploded drawing for your unit names the number; if you do not have it, we do.

Getting the Number Right

Part number 00592-30 is unambiguous; the description alone is not, because Öhlins uses similar wording across sizes. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. O-ring sizes are given as inner diameter and cross-section, and both have to match — a close size is not a match. Replacing seals at service intervals is far cheaper than replacing what a failed seal damages.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00592-30

Category: Seals

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00592-30_51e194ba-2317-473f-8538-9af169886c12.png?v=1788872443
