Öhlins machines the axle clamp so it grips without pulling the fork out of alignment.

Key Features

Öhlins part number 21664-04

Original Öhlins service part

Function

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. Fork legs are matched left and right on most Öhlins forks and are listed separately. Axle clamps and lower legs are machined to hold the axle without distorting the fork. The fork bottom carries the axle and takes the braking load into the fork.

Why the Original

Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not.

How to Be Sure It Fits

21664-04 is the Öhlins number for this position — the same one printed in the service documentation. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Bushings in the fork carry the side load; play there shows up as knocking under braking. Öhlins publishes tube diameters by fork model, and they are not interchangeable across the range.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 21664-04

Category: Fork Bottoms

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/21664-04_809edc0a-a7c9-4e0e-9b2a-52cf04db1ee7.png?v=1788879979
