The words in this product title describe conditions, not a machine. Dusty is something a road is, and roads differ by region, by season and by what happened on them last week: a resurfacing crew, a dry spell, a stretch of farm track on the way home. Two Hunter 350s built in the same month can therefore want different filter media, and neither owner is wrong. The CM231P14 is the answer for the one whose air carries grit. What the fine end is and is not for

Grit that gets through an air filter ends up between moving parts, and unlike a loaded filter it cannot be undone at the next service. That is the whole case for this element on a Hunter 350, also badged Hntr 350, that spends its life where the air is dirty. It is not a power case: a drop-in element does not make a standard 350 single noticeably stronger, and the reduced flow makes this medium the wrong purchase on consistently clean roads.

Care and cleaning

An air line on the clean face, worked outwards, is the routine. Water is for the occasions air cannot manage: lukewarm, a little mild detergent, then rinsed until it runs clear.
