Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Ducati Scrambler 1100 (2018–2024) PM127S

The Scrambler 1100 uses an air-cooled Desmodue rather than a Superquadro, and that changes the whole conversation. This is an engine that does its work between 3.000 and 6.000 rpm, with cylinders sitting in the airstream and a character built on torque rather than revs. It shares an air filter with the Panigale family — Ducati uses one element across a remarkable spread of machines — but what that filter does for it is different. The Sprint Filter P08 PM127S protects the part of the powerband this bike actually lives in.

An air-cooled twin shows restriction low down

A high-revving engine can mask a loading filter because it spends its time where there is power to spare. The 1079 cc Desmodue does not: it is used in the middle, on the pull out of a junction and the roll-on in third, and that is transient work — the engine asking for a step change in airflow. The pressure drop across a partly loaded element rises with flow, so it costs most precisely there. Nothing feels broken; the bike simply becomes less muscular in the way that made you want it.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air from the clean side outwards. For a deeper clean, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse until the water runs clear, and dry fully in air — never with heat, never with a flame. Refit dry; there is no oiling step.
