DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP YA019 also fits the Yamaha R9 (2025–2026), the newer supersport built around the 890cc CP3 triple from the MT-09 rather than the R7's twin or the R1's four. Three preload settings and a shortened rotation give riders of this in-between machine a throttle matched to its own particular character.
Key Features
- Yamaha R9 (2025–2026)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
A Triple Between a Twin and a Four
The R9 sits between the R7 and the R1 in Yamaha's supersport range by using the CP3 triple rather than either neighbour's engine layout, delivering a pull that is broader than the four's but more urgent through the middle of the revs than the twin's softer delivery. That middle ground is exactly what a tunable throttle can be matched to.
Three Settings for a New Kind of Bike
Because the R9 is new enough that owners are still working out how they prefer it to respond, the external preload collar on the return spring offers three positions rather than one fixed rate, letting a rider firm it up once they know whether they want a calmer pull or a more immediate one.
Finding Its Place in the Range
Riders moving up from an R7 or considering the R9 instead of an R1 are weighing a very specific trade-off between usability and outright performance, and the R9's throttle feel is one of the details that trade-off comes down to in practice, not just on a spec sheet.
Compatible with the Stock Switchgear
The housing is designed to accept the R9's factory handlebar switch cluster without modification, so cruise control, mode switching, and indicator functions all carry across exactly as they sit on the stock throttle, with nothing rerouted or left disconnected.
A Triple's Mid-Corner Pull
The CP3 engine's character shows up most clearly picking up the throttle mid-corner, where the triple's torque arrives earlier and more insistently than a twin's but without the four's need to stay high in the revs to feel strong, a trait many R9 owners mention first.
Returning to Stock Without a Trace
Reinstalling the factory throttle later leaves no mark on the bike beyond the usual relearn procedure, since the mounting points, connector, and switch cluster compatibility all work in both directions exactly as they did when the GP Series throttle first went on.
