These are the narrow panels that close the sides of the rear subframe on the fourth-generation S1000RR, between the seat unit and the swingarm. They are among the few places on a fully faired motorcycle where structure is deliberately left visible, and they are the panels a pillion's heel would rest against if anybody ever carried one.

A Generation That Is Easy to Get Wrong
The 2015-2018 S1000RR sits between two better-known machines and shares bodywork with neither. Its subframe panels are not the 2012-2014 parts and not the 2019 parts, and the differences are small enough to be invisible in a photograph.
Order by the year on the registration document. This generation produces more wrong-part returns than any other in the BMW range, precisely because the machines look so similar from a distance.
Fitment and Compatibility
BMW S1000RR, model years 2015 to 2018, on the original subframe fixings. Earlier and later machines take different panels.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Treat it as replacement body trim and confirm the position for your own registration before road use.
Two Finishes, and Why
This article is offered in clear coat and matt only, without the raw option available elsewhere in the range. On panels this narrow, raw has less to show — the weave is visible over a hand's width of surface, and the texture argument that makes raw compelling on a belly pan does not really apply.
Matt is the choice that reads as a continuation of the black subframe. Clear coat makes the panels stand out as carbon rather than as structure, which suits a motorcycle where the tail is meant to be looked at rather than looked past.
