DescriptionThe whole story▼
A pair of ducts that clamp ahead of the front brake calipers and direct air onto them. Fullsix lists this one number for nine different motorcycles, which tells you what it actually fits: the caliper, not the bike.
Key Features
- Left and right cooling duct as a set
- 200 Plain weave, autoclave-cured
- Clamps to the caliper, not to the fork or the mudguard
- Listed across nine models from five manufacturers
- Fitting is caliper-dependent, see below
When They Do Something and When They Do Not
Brake cooling matters at the end of a long straight on a circuit, repeatedly, with a rider braking hard from high speed. That is the situation these were drawn for.
On the road they do very little, because road braking does not put enough heat into a caliper for cooling to be the limiting factor. Anyone buying them for a road bike is buying an appearance, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as it is the actual reason.
Check Your Caliper Before Ordering
Because the ducts mount to the caliper body, the question is not what bike you have but what calipers are on it. The 2020-on R1 runs Brembo front calipers as standard, which is what makes this part relevant to the model at all. A bike with different calipers, standard or aftermarket, may not take it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Yamaha YZF-R1, model years 2020 to 2026, with the standard front calipers.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this set. Anything clamped to a brake caliper is worth having an inspector look at before it goes on a registered bike.
Fitting
Torque matters here more than anywhere else in this catalogue. These clamp to a braking component, and a duct that comes loose at speed goes into the wheel. Fit them, then check them again after the first ride and at every service afterwards.
