DescriptionThe whole story▼
Changing the front discs of a Yamaha MT-09 Street Rally is a job many owners can do at home, given a front stand, a torque wrench and an unhurried afternoon. Accossato's DKS073 is a floating front disc listed for the Street Rally from 2014 to 2016. Its outer diameter is 298 mm, its thickness 5 mm and its bore 132 mm, and for the black carrier the supplier specifies five 8.5 mm holes and a 150 mm hole circle, handy figures when you compare it with the disc that comes off.

- Five holes of 8.5 mm on a 150 mm hole circle
- Black carrier

Construction and Material Quality
The DKS073 is made of two pieces joined by rivets: a black carrier with the five fixing holes, and a friction ring that floats around it. The play in that joint is deliberate and lets the ring expand and align itself as it heats. It is sold as interchangeable with the disc fitted at the factory. Accossato describes its discs as the product of what it has learnt racing, and notes that their low weight helps steering.
The Swap in the Garage
With the MT-09 Street Rally on a front stand, remove the calipers first and tie them to the frame so the hoses are not strained, then pull the axle and lift the wheel away. Undo the disc bolts a little at a time in a crosswise order. Before the new disc goes on, clean the hub faces thoroughly; a trace of dirt or old threadlock under the carrier can make the disc run out of true. Lay the old disc on the DKS073 to confirm that holes and bore match. Fit the bolts, using threadlock only if the Yamaha manual calls for it, and tighten them in stages and crosswise to the torque Yamaha specifies. Degrease the braking surface, refit wheel and calipers, and pump the lever until it is firm before the bike moves. The first rides then serve to bed discs and pads in.
Fitment and Compatibility
The DKS073 is on Accossato's list for the MT-09 Street Rally from 2014 to 2016, covering the Street Rally of 2014 to 2015 and the ABS version of 2014 to 2016. There are two front discs, each sold on its own. For the same bike Accossato also lists the DK077, an Elite disc of identical size.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE and no type approval for the DKS073. We sell it for racing and track use.
