Short Cases in a Tight Space

The Moto GP is the shortest silencer Spark builds, and under the tail of a Super Duke that has a specific consequence: almost nothing protrudes. The bike keeps its outline and the exhaust becomes a detail rather than a component.

That is the opposite of what the same silencer does on a faired superbike, where a short case is a statement. Here it is the quiet option visually — and, because it is homologated in this kit, the sound stays within Euro5 as well.

Homologated, Which Is the Surprising Part

A very short case has less volume to absorb energy in, and short silencers are usually where approvals stop. Spark gets this one through because the approval belongs to the whole assembly: the pipework feeding the pair, the case volumes together and the packing are certified as one system.

The practical result is a motorcycle that looks like it has been prepared for a paddock and passes an inspection unchanged. Very few conversions manage both.

Titanium or Dark

Spark offers the pair in titanium and in a dark version at the same price. Raw titanium picks up heat colour at the front of each case over the first thousands of kilometres, so no two eventually look alike; the dark version stays as delivered.

On a Super Duke, where the silencers sit high and close together, that difference is more visible than it would be on a bike with a single lateral can. The dark pair is GKT0117DOM.

What an Underseat Conversion Involves

This is more than a silencer change. The kit brings its own pipework to route the gas up and back from where KTM sends it out to the side, and the silencers hang from mounts under the tail rather than from the standard hanger.

Two things follow. The tail section carries heat it did not carry before, which is why Spark's kits are engineered around the standard bodywork rather than improvised. And any soft luggage that used to strap over the tail needs rethinking — there are now two hot cases where the straps went.

Choosing Between the Three Pairs

Spark builds three homologated underseat pairs for this bike and prices them apart. The Grid-O and the Moto GP share a list price; the Dyno pairs sit above them.

The Grid-O is the racing case with the titanium grid, the Moto GP is the short prototype-style one here, and the Dyno is the newest design with the milled end cap. All three are Euro5, all three give up the passenger footrests, and all three fit the same motorcycles. The decision is entirely about which shape you want under the tail.
