Housing threads carry the adjusters and are the part that suffers if the adjuster is forced.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 01678-14

Function

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. They are model-specific because the fork spacing and offset differ. Housings carry bores for adjusters and seals; their concentricity decides whether the unit seals. Öhlins machines its housings from solid rather than casting them, which keeps the bores true.

Why the Original

A damper that can be rebuilt is a damper that stays on the bike; that is the whole argument for original service parts. Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure: a wrong part in a pressurised unit is an expensive lesson. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

How to Be Sure It Fits

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 01678-14 in this case. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Brackets and housings position the component precisely enough that it works as designed. A housing carries adjusters and their seals, so its bores matter as much as its outside.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 01678-14

Category: Fender Brackets

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/01678-14_17e6b47a-68f3-4b26-940c-b7e5a854f782.png?v=1788873939
