DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 064 removes the evaporative canister's fault code from the final years of the previous Fireblade.
Key Features
- Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade (2017–2019)
- Removes the EVAP charcoal canister
- Suppresses the resulting dashboard fault
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
- No cutting and no splicing
- Fully reversible to standard
Three Model Years
Honda added the EVAP system to the Fireblade for 2017 and kept it until the RR-R replaced the model. Earlier bikes have nothing to remove.
Tank Vapour
Fuel evaporates whenever a motorcycle stands in the sun. The canister traps it in charcoal and the engine burns it later rather than letting it into the air.
Why a Track Bike Deletes It
Weight, hoses and a cartridge in the way of everything else. On a machine that is stripped anyway, the whole assembly is an obvious candidate.
The Fault That Follows
The ECU monitors the purge valve. Disconnect it and the warning appears at the next start and stays there until something supplies the expected circuit.
The Last of the Old Fireblade
The 2017 update brought a lighter chassis, an inertial platform and a titanium tank. It was a considerable step and it was overshadowed two years later by the RR-R.
A Titanium Fuel Tank
Honda fitted one to the SP models, saving over a kilogram at the top of the motorcycle. It is the sort of detail that explains what these bikes were built for.
Road Approval
The EVAP system is part of it. Removing it makes the motorcycle a track proposition in most of Europe and this listing says so.
Blank the Lines Properly
Removing the canister leaves open hoses that need capping rather than tucking behind the subframe. It is the part of the job people skip.
Nothing Spliced
The original connector is used throughout, so the system returns for an inspection without any trace of having been removed.
An Inertial Platform, Finally
The 2017 bike was the first Fireblade with a five-axis unit feeding cornering ABS and lean-sensitive traction control. Honda had been conspicuously late to that party and the update closed the gap to rivals who had been fitting it for several seasons.
