DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato builds a dedicated off-road compound, Off-road sintered (STMX), specifically for bikes like the 450SX-F that spend their whole working life away from tarmac, and this front pad is that mixture fitted to the caliper of a bike built across the 2003 to 2026 production run. It is the pad in this range aimed squarely at mud, sand, dust and the kind of track conditions a motocross circuit actually offers, not the dry, swept surface a road bike would normally expect.
Key Features
- STMX compound for the KTM 450SX-F front caliper, built for off-road use
- Listed by Accossato across the 2003 to 2026 production run
- A mixture the maker builds specifically for off-road riders
- Suited to mud, sand, dust and loose, changing track surfaces
- Matched to the repeated hard braking of a full moto
- OR, ST and EV1 front compounds exist for the same caliper
- Two pads per box, enough for one front caliper
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato pitches this STMX mixture as its compound for off-road riders, separate from the road-oriented OR and ST options built mainly with tarmac in mind. Dust, grit and mud wear a brake pad differently to wet or dry road surfaces, and a mixture built to keep biting when the disc is caked in trail debris rather than clean rainwater is exactly what a motocross track demands, race after race, meeting after meeting through a full season.
Built for the Conditions a Track Actually Gives
A 450SX-F rarely sees a clean, dry disc for long once a race or a practice session gets underway, with roost, mud and dust reaching the front caliper from the very first lap. This STMX pad is built around that reality rather than around an idealised dry surface, and it is worth cleaning the caliper thoroughly after every proper session so the compound keeps performing reliably moto after moto, meeting after meeting.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this STMX front pad for the KTM 450SX-F across the 2003 to 2026 production run. Check your exact year against Accossato's own reference before ordering, given how long that span is; OR, ST and EV1 compounds remain the alternatives for this same caliper on the days away from genuine mud and dust.
Road Approval
No approval paperwork, such as a German ABE or a type approval mark, is available to us for this pad, so it is listed for racing and competition use. The 450SX-F is a closed-course machine and is not intended for public roads.
Scope of Delivery
Two brake pads in the box, one set for a single front caliper. Mounting hardware such as pins or springs is not part of the package.
