Across the whole Sprint Filter motorcycle range as we hold it, exactly one part number is marked as a kit, and this is it — carried on all three of the machines it serves. Everything else in the catalogue is a bare panel: a frame, a medium, a box. A single exception in a range of that size is worth a moment rather than a shrug, because it means the usual assumption about what arrives does not automatically apply here. That is the reason this page reads a little differently from its neighbours.
Key Features
- The one Sprint Filter number in our catalogue carried with a kit marking
- P14 special non-woven, run dry, filtering at 14 microns
- Rated flow 1,800 l/m²/sec against 5,050 for the 80-micron weave in the same housing
- Fits the series Royal Enfield airbox unaltered — no ducting changes and no remap
- About double the filtering surface of other performance elements
- Reusable for the life of the motorcycle, warranted two years from purchase
An exception is a reason to check
The plain element for these three machines exists under its own number, sits below this one, and carries the identical medium and the identical fitment. So the sensible order of work is to decide what you need before deciding which number to buy. The Fitment tab on this page holds Sprint Filter's machine and year data for K196P14, and the Downloads tab holds the manufacturer's paperwork; between them they are where the scope of supply is confirmed. We would rather send you there than write a contents list the price list never printed.
What is certain: the medium
Fourteen microns and 1,800 l/m²/sec, dry from the first mile and dry again after every wash. That is the fine end of the three media offered for this housing, and the exchange behind it runs in one direction only: more of the airborne load stopped, less air allowed through. Neither end of the range is the better product — the woven element at 80 microns and 5,050 is the right answer on clean roads, this one on dusty ones. And no element of either kind is a power part. A drop-in filter leaves a standard Interceptor exactly as strong as it was; what it changes is that the intake resistance starts low, returns there at each cleaning, and the panel is serviced rather than bought again.
Care and cleaning
All of it dry. Compressed air on the clean side and outwards, so the load leaves by the way it entered; a mat-type medium gives it up more slowly than a weave, so allow more time than a woven panel needs. Lukewarm water with a mild detergent handles anything greasy, then rinse until it runs clear. Air-dry at room temperature and by no other method, since heat destroys a non-woven invisibly, and refit it dry and untreated. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Listed for the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 across 2018 to 2026. The Continental GT 650 runs the identical years on this number and the Bear 650 is listed for 2025 and 2026 — three machines on one housing. Check your year, and the scope of supply, in the Fitment tab.
