DescriptionThe whole story▼
The titanium collector out of Spark's EVO 2023 kit for the Panigale V4, sold on its own. It is the section between the standard cylinder-head collectors and the silencers - the part that carries the 102 dB result Spark built the kit around.
Key Features
- Titanium collector for the Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 R.
- From the EVO 2023 3/4 kit with rectangular underseat silencers.
- Manual TIG welding.
- Supplied without silencers.
- Racing part, not approved for road use.
What a 3/4 Kit Replaces
Spark distinguishes between a full system and a 3/4 kit, and the difference is where the work starts. A 3/4 kit leaves the original collectors from the cylinder heads in place and replaces everything after them. That keeps the most awkward part of the job out of the workshop and keeps the price of the exercise down.
This article is the Spark half of that: the collector alone, without the two rectangular cases that complete the kit.
Titanium, TIG Welded by Hand
Spark offers this collector in titanium and in stainless steel and welds both by hand with TIG. On the complete kit the choice of collector material is the main lever on weight: 4.9 kg against 6.4 for the standard exhaust.
Titanium is also the version that carries the EVO 2023 designation on Spark's own page, which matters if you are matching parts to a kit that is already on the bike.
Built Around 102 dB
The kit this collector belongs to was developed for circuits that enforce a static noise limit. Spark states 102 dB at 5,500 rpm without dB killers, dropping below 100 dB with the optional dB killer fitted. The collector's diameters are part of how that number is reached, which is why swapping in a different one changes more than the weight.
Installation
The collector is the Spark section of a 3/4 kit: the original collectors from the cylinder heads stay on the motorcycle and this replaces what follows them. Spark states that the kit is compatible with the original fairings and with closed fairings for racing use.
On Euro5 machines the plastic cover of the original collector has to be filed back by a few millimetres for the Spark collector to sit correctly. Plan for that before the bike goes on the stand.
Fitment & Compatibility
Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 R, 2018 to 2024, as listed by Spark for this collector. The complete kit with titanium collector is GDU8838T, and the same kit with a stainless collector is GDU8848T. The stainless collector of Spark's 2-1 Force Evo kit for the same motorcycle is GDU8840.
Road Approval
None. Spark lists the kit this collector belongs to as not approved. Closed course only.
