Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact. Öhlins machines the ports rather than casting them, so the edges stay sharp and the flow predictable. Port area sets how much oil can pass before the shims begin to lift.

Original Öhlins Part

The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. Every part in this catalogue is one Öhlins fits itself during assembly and service. We can check the number against the Öhlins exploded view before you order — just ask. If you are between two sizes, send us the measurement and we will check it against the catalogue.

Identifying the Right Part

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00104-02. The published dimensions are dimension a 8 mm, dimension b 36 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. A check valve holds pressure in one direction and opens in the other; a worn one lets damping bleed away. Piston bands are consumables — they wear against the bore and lose their seal gradually.

Fitting and Setup Service

If you would rather not open the damper yourself, we can do it — we are an authorised Öhlins service centre and rebuild these units as a matter of routine.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00104-02

Category: Pistons

Dimension A: 8 mm

Dimension B: 36 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00104-02_000ba83d-a43d-405b-8bd3-a6501859d8a6.png?v=1788871115
