DescriptionThe whole story▼

Monitoring fuel pressure is a standard part of the electronics package on bikes built for SBK, SSP and Endurance racing, but the stock fuel line rarely has anywhere to thread a sensor into. Melotti Racing's right-angle fuel pressure sensor fitting solves that directly: it splices into the fuel hose with two hose-barb outlets and offers an M10x1 threaded port for the sensor itself, turned through a right angle to suit tighter routing around the tank.

Key Features

  • Fuel pressure sensor fitting, right-angle design
  • Allows mounting a sensor to monitor fuel system pressure
  • Used mainly on bikes prepared for SBK, SSP and Endurance classes
  • Two hose-barb outlets for the fuel hose
  • M10x1 threaded port for the pressure sensor
  • Melotti part RB.UN.O2

Construction and Material Quality

The fitting is built around two hose-barb outlets, sized for standard fuel hose, with the sensor port threaded M10x1 and turned off to the side of the hose line rather than running straight through it. That turned layout is the main difference from Melotti Racing's inline version of the same fitting, and it exists for installations where a straight fitting would not clear the tank, frame or bodywork around it.

Reading Fuel Pressure Without Rerouting the Tank

Adding a pressure sensor to a fuel system usually means finding somewhere to splice it in without rerouting the whole hose run, and turning the sensor port off to the side gives an installer the extra clearance a straight-through fitting cannot, wherever the tank, a bracket or the frame sits close to the hose. Because the fitting simply replaces a section of existing fuel hose between its two barbed outlets, fitting it does not require cutting into the tank itself or adding a separate mounting bracket for the sensor.

Fitment and Compatibility

This fitting is a universal fuel-system component rather than a part built for one motorcycle; teams fit it mainly to bikes prepared for SBK, SSP and Endurance racing, wherever the tank or frame leaves no room for a straight-through fitting. Standard fuel hose connects at either barbed outlet, and an M10x1 pressure sensor threads into the port.

Road Approval

No type approval or test certificate applies to this fitting, since altering the fuel system in this way is a racing modification; a bike set up this way is not approved for public roads in Germany without separate registration.
